The next meeting of the Ada School board will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the school.

The Ohio Northern women's soccer program hold a strong presence on this season's Ohio Athletic Conference awards listing announced Wednesday morning as the Polar Bears landed seven student-athletes on the 2018 All-OAC teams voted on by the league's 10 head coaches. 

 

Junior goalkeeper Meagan Grierson and sophomore defender Sydney Leshnak headlined the selections, both earning special awards from the league office. Grierson was named the OAC Goalkeeper of the Year while Leshnak received OAC Defender of the Year accolades.

11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12 at Lehr statue

Keith E. Harman will deliver remarks during a Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at the Henry Solomon Lehr Statue at the front of the Ohio Northern University campus. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in Presser Hall.
 

Ohio Northern University alumni Elizabeth Ekole and Brendan Thompson are the latest recipients of the William L. Robinson Young Alumni Award from their alma mater. The award was established by the ONU Alumni Association to honor individuals who have graduated from the University in the last 15 years and who demonstrate passion and loyalty toward their profession, community and alma mater.

New Leaf Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, will hold a Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10.

County approves extension levy and mental health levy

The Ada school levy and Liberty Townshp fire levy passed on Nov. 6. On the Hardin County ballot, the OSU Extension levy passed, as did the Mental Health Levy.

Who is voting here?

Could it be Courtnie Morton, or little Beau, or maybe Nala from the Lion King? The Ada precinct at Community Health Professionals reported more than the usual number of people had voted by 10 a.m.—242 voters at that time.

The Ada Senior Citizens will celebrate Thanksgiving with lunch at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Golden Corral in Lima. To carpool, meet at CHP at 12:15 p.m.

The Wednesday, December 12 meeting will begin at 9 a.m. with a breakfast followed by  a time to wrap goodie bags for members who are unable to attend meetings any longer. Those who wish may bring items to help fill the bags.

Senior citizens 55 and over are invited to join the group for a $10 annual membership fee. Ada Senior Citizens usually meet twice monthly.
