Alger Public Library is hosting an Alien Brain Autopsy Activity on this Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. This alien autopsy activity is perfect for that future brain surgeon or little tyke who likes all scientific experiments. For this event, the kids are the medical examiners. (Spoiler: it's a gelatin mold in the shape of a brain.)
This event is free and open to the public.

Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center has been reverified as a Level 2 trauma center by the Committee on Trauma (COT), an achievement that recognizes devotion to optimal care for injured patients. The verification extends St. Rita’s Level II Trauma Center status through May 2021.
The COT was established by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to help improve all phases of care of injured patients. Verified trauma centers, such as St. Rita’s, must meet the strict criteria that ensures quality of trauma patient care and institutional performance.
Consistent rains across Ohio and the Corn Belt continue to delay planting progress as the June 17 USDA Planting Progress report showed that 68% of intended corn acres and 46% of intended soybean acres have been planted in Ohio.
Nationwide, roughly 27 million acres of corn and soybeans will either be planted or filed under prevented planting insurance.
Across Ohio, the Final Plant Date (FPD) for soybeans is June 20. Soybeans can be planted after the FPD, but a one percent reduction in the insurance guarantee occurs.
Abbie Linden has joined The Inn at ONU, Ada, as its culinary chef.
Linden said that she will focus on adding creative additions to the menus. Adding that she plans to create modern twists on classics, providing a delicious and fun dining experience for all.
A native of Springfield, she pursued her culinary career to places including Northwich, England, the Kentucky Derby and The Finger Lakes Food and Wine Festival.
She has won several culinary competitions and was featured as a field editor for “Taste of Home” magazine.
State Route 235 between the villages of Alger and Roundhead will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm repair through early July. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
Century 21 Sunway Realty, Ada, will hold three open houses on Sunday. Each is from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Ada Public Library features a free showing of the movie “Hidden Figures,” at noon on Saturday, June 22. The movie is part of the library’s summer reading program activities.
About the movie
Hidden Figures is a 2016 film, loosely based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly, about three black female mathematicians who worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during the Space Race. According to 20th Century Fox, "The visionary trio crossed all gender and racial line and inspired generations."
Anthony Clark has been named an assistant men's soccer coach at Ohio Northern.
Clark returns to his alma mater after graduating from ONU in 2017 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
He played for the Polar Bears for two seasons after transferring from NCAA Division II University of Findlay, where he was a varsity player for 2 years.
Clark was a 2-year varsity player at Ohio Northern, winning an OAC Championship in 2015 and making two NCAA tournament appearances in 2015 and 2016. He appeared in 30 career games with three starts for the Polar Bears.
