Ada Public Library will offer curbside services starting on Monday. The services are following local, state and federal directives and guidelines. Here’s how it will work:
Requesting items
Patrons may place requests using the library’s online catalog at: ohio.ent.sirsi.net/client/ada
or by call the library at 419-634-5246 with a book title or topic request.
Picking up items:
Park outside the library and call 419-634-5246 to let the staff know you are in the parking lot. Please stay inside your vehicle and a staff member will place items in trucks or unoccupied back seats.
CHP Home Care & Hospice, Ada, is offering support for children and youth dealing with issues related to the loss of a special person in their lives, according to Greg Yinger of Community Health Professionals.
“Summer survival bags” and Rays of Hope Zoom group meetings are available through CHP Hospice each month this summer.
Survival bags will include activities and lessons for kids to complete with their families.

Ada loves a good parade.
Last Saturday's parade was more than a "good" parade. It was a well-deserved one. The Ada High School class of 2020, robbed of many spring and end-of-year traditions took the streets.
And, the result was lots of fun, loud horns honking, signs and waves and, well, you can get away with this kind of celebrating in a small town like Ada.

Evelyn R. “Myrtle” Krofft, 95, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 1:35 p.m. at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Walter and Ethel (Howe) Wolff. On May 31, 1947, Evelyn married Robert M. Krofft and he preceded her in death.
Hardin County Sheriff officers responded to a call that livestock were on the roadway south of Ada on at 6:51 a.m. this morning, according to the Ada police log.
Cattle were reported loose on the north side of State Route 309 between the Ada and Alger turn off.

In cooperation with Ada schools, the Ada Icon will post each of the Ada High School class of 2020 seniors in the spotlight. Victoria Ross is today's senior in the spotlight.

Isaac Spar of Ada High School and Trey Jefferies of Kenton High School are each recipients of a $500 scholarship from the Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame.
The announcement was made by Wes Davis, sports hall director, and Robert Simmons, scholarship chairperson.
The sports hall honors outstanding athletes, teams, individuals and groups who have made contributions on and off the athletic field.
