Ada CC team at Bearcat Invitational

SPENCERVILLE - The Ada cross country teams competed at the Spencerville Invitational Saturday morning.

Senior Jacob Morgan paced Ada despite running in his first meet this season. He finished 32nd out of 150 runners with a solid time of 19:05.07.

Morgan also plays golf for the Ada varsity this season.

Sophomore Robby Waters ran second for the Bulldogs, coming home 107th in 22:36.5. Classmate Connor Daugherty crossed the finish line 121st in 23:34.8.

Ada senior Cole Anspaugh ended up 134th in 25:10.

Bobbie Jean Williams, 85, passed away on Sunday, Sept.13, 2020, at 1:20 a.m. at the Lima Manor, Lima, Ohio.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1934, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to the late Samuel and Nora (Wright) Ramey. On June 3, 1952 Jean married Estill L. Williams and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2016.

Jean was a homemaker and she retired from Ohio Northern University in 1997 after working for 26 years in the custodian department.  Jean attended the Alger United Baptist Church.

As Ohio Northern University students continue to do their part to maintain a safe campus environment during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis by wearing masks, disinfecting surfaces and socially distancing, one student group is helping students come together safely online.

The ONU Gaming Club is hosting weekly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate video game tournaments for ONU students on Twitch.tv and Discord.

The tournaments, which run from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday, are open to all students on campus with a Nintendo Switch game console and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

The Kenton Hardin Health Department will hold two drive-thru flu shot clinics this fall.

The first is Saturday, Sept. 19, and the second is  Saturday, Oct. 3. Both take place in the parking lot under the Health Department in Kenton and the hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Flue shots are given without persons leaving their vehicles.

About the Clinic:
• Masks required for the safety of staff and individuals.
• Vaccines available for ages 6 months and up.
• Personal insurance and Medicare accepted.
• Bring your driver’s license and insurance cards.
• High-dose flu vaccine available for persons 65 and older.

Gallstones are precipitations (collections) of bile that form into stones that range in size from sand crystals to golf balls.

They usually form in the gallbladder which is a sac-like organ sitting beneath the liver on the right side of the abdomen. The gallbladder’s purpose is to store the bile that the liver creates. 

Bile travels through ducts to empty into the intestine and helps digest the fatty foods we eat. Gallstones occur from an unbalanced collection of cholesterol, lecithin and bile salts in the bile.

FDA approves Qwo (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes) for cellulite

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the first injectable medication for cellulite.

This medication is called Qwo (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes). The FDA approved it to treat adult women with moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks.

Qwo comes in the form of an injection and is given under the skin (subcutaneously) of each buttock by your health care provider.

You may receive up to 12 injections per treatment area. Each treatment visit may include up to two treatment areas.

These injections will be given 21 days apart for three treatment visits.
