The Ada High School varsity baseball team was seeded 10th at the 13-team Coldwater district Div. IV sectional drawing Sunday, May 8.

The Bulldogs (5-10) will host 11th-seeded league foe Spencerville (5-13) Tuesday, May 17 at 5 p.m. in the sectional first round.

The winner advances to visit top seed Lincolnview (12-4) Thursday, May 19 in the sectional finals at 5 p.m.

Ada (0-5 NWC) is also scheduled to entertain Spencerville (4-2 NWC) in a league makeup game Wednesday, May 11.

The district semifinals and finals will be hosted by Coldwater May 25/27.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the Ada Zoning Board of Appeals shall hear a variance request by the owner of 215 West Montford.

The owners are requesting approval of a 24 x 24 garage in their rear yard. According to Ada Zoning Code, a 30' setback from the rear property line is required. The owners are requesting a variance of forty percent (40%) which will allow an 18' setback from the rear property line. 

The hearing will occur at 5:00 p.m. on May 17, 2022, at the Ada Depot, 9 Central Ave.

Ohio Northern University will host a full residential music camp from June 19-25. 2022. Alumni campers are also invited to participate in a finale concert to help  celebrate 50 years of camp.

The guest concert conductor will be Alexander Beer from Stuttgart, Germany.

The Ohio Northern University Summer Music Camp (ONU SMC) is designed for students in grades 7-12. It provides classroom and performance opportunities for students at every skill level.

Held on the ONU campus, all rehearsals, classes, and performances are located in Presser Hall and the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Campers reside in air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms.

The Village of Ada has been awarded a grant of $13,000, among $2.1 million in H2Ohio awards to help public water systems and communities identify and map lead pipes.

Village Administrator Jamie Hall notes, "I am very excited that the Village is one of the 48 selected to be awarded for the H2Ohio Grant. Not a large grant but it does help us to fund the Village GPS Data collection system and GIS mapping project. This project will be essential for us to meet 2024 EPA requirements of identification and mapping of our water distribution system.

Playing in Bryan, the Ada tennis squad finished a solid third at the six-team Northern Buckeye Tennis League tournament Saturday, May 7.

Bulldog junior Brendan Jameson finished second in the second singles flight to post the best Ada finish.

Bulldog senior southpaw Dexter Woods came in third in the first singles flight. He beat Wauseon's Gavin Van Dellen 8-1 in the third-place match.

Ada junior Amelia Alexander also finished third in the third singles bracket. She defeated Zeb Siefker of Wauseon 8-1 in her third-place match.

The Ada High School track and field teams hosted their annual 16-team Invitational meet Saturday, May 7 at War Memorial Stadium.

Van Wert won the boys team crown over Bluffton, while Ada came in 10th. Spencerville captured the girls team title with Kenton second. The Bulldog girls finished 10th as well.

Julian Grose came in second in the boys 300 meter hurdles to post the top Bulldog finish.

Ada junior Courtney Sumner ended up third in the long jump to register the best Lady Bulldog showing.

The Ada High School girls track and field team finished a solid third at the six-team Hardin County Invitational meet on May 4, which was hosted by Upper Scioto Valley High School in McGuffey.

Kenton won the girls team crown narrowly over Riverdale, followed by Ada in third. 

Kenton also captured the boys team title, followed closely by Hardin Northern. Meanwhile, the Bulldog boys came in sixth in the tightly-bunched male standings.

Julian Grose won the 300 hurdles to register the top Ada boys finish.

Bulldog sophomore Olivia Burkhart took first in the 400 meter dash.

Tickets are required for the sectional softball game to be played at Ada on Monday, May 9 and they must be purchased online.

Cost is $8 until the day of the game, then the cost increases to $10.

The Bluffton Lions Foundation is ready to host riders in the eighth annual Bluffton Ride to Remember on July 16, 2022, which includes an Ada Loop.

Three loops will be marked and mapped, providing riders rest stops with water, ice and snacks, as well as emergency support. Riders also receive a swag bag with treats from local businesses and a lunch coupon.

The Fun Loop is 11 miles. Great for young families and new cyclists, portions use Bluffton's bicycle paths, which are the beneficiary of the fundraiser.
