SPENCERVILLE--The visiting Ada High School volleyball team swept Spencerville handily to capture their Northwest Conference and regular season finale Tuesday night.
The decisive 25-20, 25-12, 25-18 victory lifted the Lady Bulldog record to 11-11 overall and 2-6 in the NWC. Ada finished tied for sixth place in the nine-team league with Delphos Jefferson and Columbus Grove.
Ada beat Grove, but lost at Jefferson. The Bulldogs had a far better overall record than CG (4-16) and DJ (5-16).
The Bearcat girls dropped to 3-15 and 0-8 in the NWC to finish last in the league.

Playing at home, the Ada High School volleyball team battled but lost a three-setter to Upper Sandusky in a non-conference match Monday on their annual "Dig for the Cure" cancer benefit night on October 10.
Proceeds from the event went to benefit the family of former Ada teacher Julie Butterfield. Over five thousand dollars was raised.
Bulldog Nathan Williams scored two goals in the first nine minutes and the host Ada High School boys soccer team made them stand up in a 2-0 win over Lima Central Catholic Monday night, October 10, under the lights at War Memorial Park Stadium.
The Bulldogs improved to 6-6-4 following the non-conference victory. LCC is 2-13.
Williams netted his first goal from about 16 yards out by drilling a shot into the lower left corner of the net at the 37:14 mark.
Bulldog goalkeeper Colton Long made a nice save at 36 minutes.
The Ada High School girls soccer team will play at seventh-seeded Upper Sandusky at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17 in Div. III sectional first round tournament action.
The Lady Bulldogs (5-9) were seeded ninth in the 12-team Bluffton sectional/district. Ada lost to visiting Upper Sandusky 4-2 on September 22, so they will get a chance to avenge that defeat.
The Ada/Upper Sandusky victor will play at second seed Van Buren (10-4-1) Thursday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. The Bulldogs lost 9-1 at VB on October 6.
