NORTH ROBINSON__The Ada High School swim teams competed on Saturday, January 24 at the eight-team North Central Ohio Swim League championships.

Meet host Colonel Crawford swept the boys and girls team titles. It was the 10th consecutive league crown for the Eagle girls, who rolled to the championship with 440 points. Bluffton finished a distant second at 202, while Upper Sandusky was third (168).

The Eagle boys scored 376 points to win the program's fourth NCOSL crown over the past six seasons. The Bluffton boys finished as league runner-up with 291 points, while Upper Sandusky was third at 204.

Ohioans reported 715 bald eagles, like this immature bald eagle, during a January count. 

MEDIA RELEASE__A bald eagle midwinter citizen survey counted 715 bald eagles thanks to 391 separate reports from Jan. 7-21 in the Buckeye State, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
 
With the United States’ 250th anniversary year underway in 2026, the Division of Wildlife requested the public’s help in a midwinter survey to count the national bird. Over 15 days, the agency received observations of 592 adult and 123 immature eagles.

The first event is coming up on Friday, February 13. It is called "Jupiter Divides the Twins", referring to the way the planet Jupiter will be in the middle of the constellation Gemini.  Guests will be looking at Jupiter and its moons, as well as other celestial objects.

On Bluffton Icon: Free Jan. 31 showing of True Grit at Shannon Theatre

Bluffton celebrates America 250 

The Shannon Theatre will play a free film each quarter as part of Bluffton's America 250 celebrations.

The first film is True Grit (2010), showing this Saturday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m.  Doors open at 9:00 a.m, and admission is free.
