FROM HANCOCK COUNTY SHERIFF FACEBOOK__On 3/3026 at approx. 1530 hours, the Hancock County METRICH Drug Task Force assisted by the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, conducted a prostitution sting at the Fairway Inn, 855 OH-103, Bluffton, Ohio.

This operation yielded a large amount of suspected liquid methamphetamine, 88 tablets of LSD, 6 Schedule II pills, 1 gun, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the operation, the following person was arrested and incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center:

Ada hosts Bluffton on Tuesday, March 31

ADA__The Ada High School baseball team scored in every inning to wallop visiting county rival Hardin Northern 15-5 on a windy but warm Monday, March 30 evening in their season opener at War Memorial Park.

Ada jumped ahead with four runs in the bottom of the first before HN tallied twice in the second, and the purple and gold never trailed in posting the win.

ADA__The Ada High School softball team overcame four home runs to defeat visiting county rival Hardin Northern 10-6 in a battle of undefeated teams on a warm but windy evening Monday, March 30.

The Bulldog girls jumped ahead 4-0 after two innings. HN crept back within 6-4, but Ada put together a crucial four-run sixth frame to put the game out of reach.

Polar Bear sophomore catcher Baylie Bacon slugged three home runs and drove in four runs in an impressive losing effort.

Apollo Career Center has released the third quarter 2025-2026 Honor Roll which includes the following students from Ada High School.

School Board recap: Metal roof installation planned for summer 2026

Laurene “Lolly” Hopson Cooney, 77, of Ada, entered the Lord’s embrace on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on February 2, 1949, in Lima, Peru to the late Leonard T. and Heloise (Reid) Hopson. On March 27, 1971, Lolly married Dennis E. Cooney, who survives in Ada.

Also surviving are her two daughters: Rachel Cooney Temple of Ada, and Melanie T. (Matt) Dyer of Alger; five grandchildren: Melina, Collin, Carisa, Brenna and Quinn; and a sister, Marilyn R. (John) VanDyke of Mountainside, NJ; mother-in-law, Marcine Cooney.

Ada Soccer started in 1980. We participate in the Black Swamp Soccer League out of Findlay, Ohio. Ada is a small town in Hardin County, Northwest Ohio. We have a student population of 825 students in our K-12 school. Ada Soccer has about 250 students who play in the fall and spring.
