The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 is in search of seasonal employees for the upcoming winter season and will hold a winter seasonal career fair Friday, Oct. 27. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ODOT’s Hardin County maintenance facility, located at 13052 U.S. 68 in Kenton.
Career fair attendees will be able to apply for a winter seasonal position, have a driving record check completed, take a required physical abilities test, and interview for a position.
Community service is an important component of the ONU College of Pharmacy experience. During the 2016-17 academic year, the college’s 14 student organizations implemented 198 events, with 71 percent of those in the Hardin County community. These included 648 hours of service and reached 8,542 patients. Pharmacy students performed 2,090 health screenings, which resulted in 302 referrals for further treatment.

OTTAWA - The Ada volleyball team rallied to knock off top seed Leipsic in five sets at the Div. IV district semifinals in Ottawa Tuesday night.
The third-seeded Lady Bulldogs won 15-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 15-10.
The comeback win was their ninth victory in a row, and advanced Ada (17-7)
to the district finals Thursday in Ottawa vs. Lima Central Catholic.
Senior middle Melina Woods knocked down 37 kills and came up with 19 digs
and four blocks to pace the purple and gold.
The Ohio Northern University Marching Band will present a concert featuring its music from the 2017 season at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29 in the Freed Center.

BEREA — The No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team swept Baldwin Wallace 25-16, 25-17, 25-14 on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (24-4 overall) run their win streak to eight consecutive matches and stay atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings with a 7-1 league record.
ONU would grab a share of its 25th OAC Regular Season title with a victory at Marietta in its regular season finale on Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 25-5, 3-5.
The Polar Bears have clinched a top-3 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match on Oct. 31 at 7 pmat the ONU Sports Center.
The No. 14-ranked Ohio Northern women's soccer team used a strong offensive effort to claim the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship outright and move its win streak to 13 games with a 7-2 victory over Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday evening at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 15-1-1 overall and 8-0-0 in the OAC, while the visiting Yellow Jackets drop to 11-6-1, 4-3-1.
Northern was led in the contest by freshman Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) as she scored two goals and tallied two assists for ONU.
