Looking for a seasonal job this winter?
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 is in search of seasonal employees for the upcoming winter season and will hold a winter seasonal career fair Friday, Oct. 27. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ODOT’s Hardin County maintenance facility, located at 13052 U.S. 68 in Kenton.
Career fair attendees will be able to apply for a winter seasonal position, have a driving record check completed, take a required physical abilities test, and interview for a position.
Plowing snow is the primary job responsibility for winter seasonal positions. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a valid class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, without air brake restriction; and three months of training or experience in basic equipment operation.
A total of 40 positions are available in Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot counties. Those interested in the career fair are encouraged to apply in advance at careers.ohio.gov. On the website, filter results by department and select “Transportation - District 01.”
