While John Adams thought Americans would be celebrating their independence on July 2, the day the resolution for independence was approved by Congress, the sentiment has remained the same.
To celebrate this national holiday, the Village Offices will be closed July 4 and 5. The offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 8.

Richland Manor, 7400 Swaney Road, Bluffton, will hold a summer ice cream social at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 18.
The event is free and open to the public. In addition to ice cream there will be live entertainment from the Hallalujah Saints Band.
