Funeral arrangements updated February 3.

Keith M. “Moose” VanHoose, age 59, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 9, 1962, in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Paris and Mary (Blair) VanHoose.  On August 2, 1985, Keith married Tammie J. Dyer and she survives in Lakeview.

Rumor Has It was a 2005 film directed by Rob Reiner and starred Jennifer Aniston, Shirley MacLaine, and Kevin Costner. The movie scored well in the box office but was not a fan favorite at 2.8 stars with a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In contrast, Adele won 15 Grammy awards with her hit song Rumour Has It released in 2011. Some of her lyrics strike home as we deal with the misinformation surrounding COVID-19.  Lyrics such as “bless your soul, you got your head in the clouds” and “people say crazy things”.  

Raymond Russell Binkley, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 7:36 p.m. at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 29, 1947, in Kenton, Ohio to the late Darrel and Audrey (Barry) Binkley. On April 27, 1969, Raymond married Sharon K. Gudakunst, who preceded him in death on November 1, 2012.

The Icon attend the February 1 Ada Village Council meeting using the remote option offered by the Village of Ada.

Maria Santo, Ada resident and candidate for the position of judge on the Hardin County Common Pleas Court, detailed her qualifications for the position.

The Ada High School swim teams faced off in a dual meet against county rival Kenton at the Hardin County YMCA Tuesday night, February 1.

The Bulldog girls lost the meet to Kenton, 93-68. The Wildcats defeated the Bulldog boys, 100-35.

Kenton won the combined girls/boys score, 193-103. 

Bulldog freshman Lily Baumgartner and junior Carlie Oldfield each won two races, and both swam legs for a pair of victorious relay foursomes.

Junior Kaitlyn Bowden won the 100 butterfly race, and also swam for both winning relay teams.
