Current chamber director Lindsay Hollar announced at the April chamber breakfast that she is stepping down later in 2026 to take on a larger role in a family business, Sheldon Gas Company of Dunkirk.

FROM FACEBOOK__The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for our next part-time Chamber Director — this is a paid position!

This role will coordinate some of our community’s favorite events, including the Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival, Harvest & Herb Festival, Merry on Main, and more. They will also manage the chamber membership and monthly meetings.

MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE__(Original release December 18, 2026) Death Investigation.

On November 24, 2025 Paula Dirmeyer came to the Ada Police Department to report that she had been assaulted within the Village of Ada by a known individual.  Officers gathered information from her and began an investigation.  

On November 27, officers were notified by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office that Paula had been found deceased in her rural Allen County home; her body was transported to Lucas County for a post-mortem exam.

MEDIA RELEASE__The Ada Rotary will host a Chicken BBQ fundraiser on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

The menu is ½ Chicken, Baked Beans, Potato Salad for $12 per meal prepared by Mike Bollinger of Chicken at the Lake.

Meals are drive-thru only at Hays Insurance, 202 South Main St., Ada

FROM ONU.EDU/NEWS__The president-elect of the American Bar Association, a distinguished professor emeritus of pharmacy, and a retired U.S. Navy captain who broke barriers for women in the military, are Ohio Northern University’s 2026 Commencement speakers. All three commencement ceremonies will be held at the ONU Sports Center Field House.

Jeff Fries (Ada HS '76) to be inducted in Hall of Fame

MEDIA RELEASE__The Class of 2026 Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held at St. John's Evangelical Church at 221 East Carrol Street, Kenton on Saturday, June 20, 2026.  

Tickets are now on sale for $30.00 each and are available for purchase at both Quest Kenton locations as well as Quest in Ada. 

No tickets will be sold at the door, and tickets are on a first come first serve basis.  

Doors will open at 5 p.m. for "Meet and Greet"; dinner at 6 p.m. and induction ceremonies to follow.  

This year's 2026 enshrinees include: 

M. Corrine Brown, age 91, of LaFayette, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Corrine was born on May 29, 1934, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Oak and Susan (Barr) Bassitt. On June 6, 1953, she married Donald G. Brown, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2002.

Corrine is survived by five children: Cathy (Jeff) Augsburger of Lima, Donald E. (Karen) Brown of Bluffton, Karen (JR) Newman of McGuffey, Kenneth Brown of Alger and Cynthia (Bill) Calvert of Kenton; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Sam (Barbara) Bassitt of Lima; special niece, Pam Harless; and friend Cathy Schaaf.
