Four Ada High School girls basketball players received All-Blanchard Valley Conference honors in voting recently conducted by the league coaches.

Senior 6-0 post Anna Conley was named second team All-BVC. She led Ada in scoring (11.6 points), rebounds (8.9) and blocks (2.6) per game this season.

Versatile freshman Tea Griffith also earned second team all-league notice. She scored 10.2 points and grabbed 6.4 rebounds per contest.

Sharpshooting junior guard Kenley Poling was voted honorable mention all-league. She scored 4.7 ppg and dished out 2.6 assists a game.

Dean Altstaetter, Assistant Director of Admissions at Ohio Northern University, is among the individuals and businesses to be honored at the February 26 Ada Distinguished Awards. Altstaetter will receive the Chris Burns DiBiasio Make a Difference Award. Tickets are on sale at https://square.link/u/l8WG9UOB.

ADA__Accurate long-range shooting helped the Ada High School boys basketball team throttle visiting Perry 74-25 in a non-conference mismatch on Tuesday, February 17.

The Bulldogs pumped in a season-best 13 three-point goals in the home finale to blow out the Commodores. Four purple and gold players tallied double figures to pace the blowout.

MEDIA RELEASE__On April 17, 2025, deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of 12757 State Route 309 on the report of a serious injury crash involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, deputies located three victims. Dennis Covault, 73, of Harrod, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His spouse, Louise Covault, 71, also of Harrod, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Columbus-area hospital for treatment.

The driver of the second vehicle, Hailey Breeden, a 28-year-old female of Kenton, also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Lima hospital for further medical care.

FROM FACEBOOK__Brightspeed communications responded to Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and community member inquiries on Facebook regarding the service outage created by the February 2 fire on S. Main St. in Ada.

Brightspeed fiber and copper networks were damaged by the fire.
