Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department and police responded to two calls to Ada Stamping on Thursday, June 25. Responding to the calls at the plant located at 605 E. Montford were the department’s engine 51 and an Ada police vehicle.

At 8:32 a.m. a carbon/fire alarm was reported. Then, at 8:42 a.m. a fire alarm-zone 1 sprinkler flow was reported.

Kenton Hardin Health Department is reporting an additional COVID-19 associated death. The department is also reporting 3 new recoveries and 1 negative test result.

Brayden Miller and Carlie Oldfield, both sophomores this coming school year, chat prior to a session with new employees of the Ada swimming pool. Ada's pool will open on Wednesday, July 1, and the final tuneup of equipment is completed and awaiting for you to jump through the hoop. Who says that summer reading has to be as bubbly and frothy as the foam on top of your iced latte? 

I find it better to immerse myself in a good story, like my toes being buried in warm beach sand. But with the current covid-19 restrictions on all of us I have to depend on curbside service from my local library, and recommendations from my favorite librarians. 

Which brings me to the point of these reviews on two books that I really enjoyed.

Ohio Northern University law graduate Larry N. Heiser was appointed to serve as a judge on the Marion County Family Court, in an announcement made by Governor DeWine's office.

Heiser of Marion, will assume office on July 13, and must run for election on Nov. 3, for the remainder of the term ending Feb. 8, 2023.

Heiser is replacing Judge Deborah Alspach, who retired from the Marion County Family Court on Feb. 1, 2020.  

Heiser received his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Ohio Northern University.  He currently is in private practice.

If you don’t feel comfortable sending your child to school and have the resources to keep them home, keep them home. We just want what is best for the majority of the community.
