Music with your child or grandchild; and group piano classes for youth

Sign-up for two music classes beginning in mid-October is now underway at Miss Vicki’s Music Studio, Ada.

Interested in making music with your child or grandchild?

The class offers a mixed ages music class from babies to 4-year-olds in a weekly series starting Monday, Oct. 14, and continuing through May of 2020.

Registration is now open for all 24 sessions, or registrants may choose semester 1 or semester 2. Classes are Fridays from 4:55 to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday evening in the Freed Center

The Ohio Northern University Department of Theatre Arts will present a lecture demonstration, “Dancing History,” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday,  Sept. 28, in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Guest artist and dance historian Thomas Baird has been on campus working with ONU students to develop historical dance techniques. Audiences can expect to witness changes of period dance styles, dress and music.

Bulldog boys run at Bath Invite

LIMA - The Ada cross country team competed in the Bath Invitational meet Tuesday evening.

The Bulldog boys finished ninth in the nine-team meet, which featured 98 runners.

Shawnee came in first with 32 points, well ahead of second-place Ottoville (93). USV was fifth (115) and Kenton finished seventh (149), while Ada totaled 239 points.

Bulldog spikers fall to Knights

CONVOY - The Ada volleyball team lost in straight sets at league-leading Crestview Thursday night in a Northwest Conference match.

The 25-11, 25-16, 25-11 loss dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 8-10 overall and 1-4 in NWC play. Crestview improved to 13-1 and 6-0 in the NWC with the victory.

Junior Megan Light led Ada with four blocks and six kills. Classmate Miranda Wills added two kills and 13 digs.
 
Junior Aubrey Madison passed out six assists and made seven digs. Senior Josie Poling compiled a pair of kills and six digs.

Senior libero Kendal Guagenti served one ace and came up with a dozen digs.

Bulldog linksters compete at sectionals

ARLINGTON - The Ada boys golf team ended its season by finishing 12th in the 13-team Div. III sectional tournament at Arlington's Sycamore Springs Golf Course Thursday.

The top three teams and top three individuals not from qualifying teams advanced to compete at the Div. III districts October 3.

Van Buren won the sectional event with 349 strokes, followed closely by Allen East (350) and Bluffton (357).

Zach Miller of Allen East was sectional champion with a score of 38-39=77. A.J. Overmyer of VB tied with Ethan Tanner of fourth-place Carey for tournament second medalist honors, with each posting rounds of 81.
