UPPER SANDUSKY - The visiting Ada girls soccer team lost to Upper Sandusky 3-0 Monday evening.
The loss dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 2-5 this season.
"The game was played fairly even, but they were able to capitalize on through balls," said Ada head coach Doug Poling.
Upper Sandusky took the lead midway through the first half on a breakaway goal. Another Ram goal just before halftime extended their lead to 2-0 at intermission.
US tallied the third goal early in the second half, and the game remained scoreless the rest of the way.
The Icon's poetic license is not limited to Ohio plates. Here's one we spotted recently on a Virginia vehicle. We've translated it for viewers: UVA (University of Virginia), HSC (Hampden-Sydney College). The coat of arms is Hampden-Sydney's, a men's school in Virginia.
Students at the ONU Child Development Center had a lesson in rhythm and sound last week. Using sticks, they listened to music and played fast, slow, quiet and loud, depending upon the style of music they heard.
Bethel Church of Christ in rural Ada will celebrate their 150th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 15.
Bethel was formed when William Park donated land to a group of Disciples of Christ Christians in 1869 and a church building was erected on what is now County Road 304 and Township Road 56.
In 1913 a new building was built and the original one room building was torn down. Today this building still serves as part of the existing worship center and classroom space downstairs.
The staff, volunteers and board of the ReStore Community Center invites
the community to join in celebration Tuesday, Sept. 10, as the Center celebrates its grand reopening and rededication under its new - and yet to be announced - name.
The decision was made by the ReStore’s board of directors to rename the center earlier this summer to differentiate itself from other national charities.
“(The ReStore) was born out of a feeling of love, and a desire to reach out an assist those in need,” Robert Kanzig, executive director, said.
“The hope always has been, and always will be to show any in need the love
and compassion demonstrated by Jesus Christ.”
