Ohio Northern University presents Carroll V. Lovett Distinguished Lecture
Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration will present “Will Health Care Reform Improve Your Health,” a lecture by Brian Smith, as part of the Carroll V. Lovett Distinguished Lecture Series in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.
Smith, who graduated from ONU with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1987, is president of Catholic Health Partners (CHP) Northern Division and chief executive officer of St. Rita’s Health Partners (SRHP). He has been with St. Rita’s for more than 20 years. As North Division president, he has responsibility for 11 hospitals, physician joint ventures, and three wholly owned physician practices with 250 providers.
In 2004, Smith was named to Modern Healthcare magazine’s “Up & Comers” list, a program that annually honors health executives under 40 years of age who have demonstrated superior leadership skills. Smith is past chairman of the board of the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Bishop of Toledo’s Diocesan Health Care Task Force, the Allen Lima Leadership board of directors, and the CEO Healthcare Roundtable.
This event is free and open to the public.
The Carroll V. Lovett Distinguished Lecture Series was established by a bequest of Florence V. Lovett in honor of her son, Carroll Lovett, a 1961 ONU graduate and retired manager from the Xerox Corporation.
