UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team dropped a 26-2 decision at John Carroll on Saturdayafternoon at Don Shula Stadium.

The Polar Bears fall to 6-8 overall and are 3-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Blue Streaks improve to 12-2, 5-1.

JCU controlled play from the onset, scoring the game's first nine goals in the first ten minutes.

Senior Chelsea Cousins (Lewis Center/Olentangy) and sophomore Maggie Fuller (Naples, Fla.) scored goals for ONU.

MASON — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team clinched a spot in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament with a pair of 9-0 victories over Muskingum and Marietta on Saturday at the OAC Tennis Fest at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 11-7 overall and are 5-2 in OAC action.

Muskingum falls to 1-8, 0-6 and Marietta drops to 6-9, 2-4.

Sophomore Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia Academy) posted a 4-0 record on the day to lead ONU.

ADA — The Ohio Northern pitching staff dominated both games as the Ohio Northern baseball team swept No. 15-ranked Marietta 5-2, 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wander Field.

The Polar Bears improve to 21-10 overall and 9-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers fall to 20-9, 8-4.

Northern moved into a tie for third place in the OAC standings with a double header at Muskingum and a twinbill at home with Wilmington remaining in the conference schedule. 

MASON — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team clinched a bye in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament with shutout victories over Muskingum and Marietta on Saturday as part of the OAC Tennis Fest at the Lindner Tennis Center.

ONU topped Muskingum 6-0 and Marietta 9-0.

The Polar Bears improve to 17-4 overall and are 7-0 in OAC action. Muskingum falls to 0-12, 0-7 and Marietta drops to 4-14, 0-5.

ONU also celebrated Senior Day with a ceremony to honor the squad's lone senior, Lynn Kelly (Mason).

MARIETTA — The Ohio Northern softball team punched its ticket to the 2018 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and clinched at least a top-3 seed in the tournament as it swept Marietta 8-0, 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Marietta Field.

With a twinbill with Muskingum as the only remaining contests in the conference schedule, the Polar Bears (26-6 overall, 12-4 OAC) are one game back from Otterbein and the top seed and hold a 1-game lead over Heidelberg for the No. 2 seed in the tournament. 

Marietta (15-15, 7-7) moved into a tie for fifth place in the OAC standings.

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team was edged by John Carroll 9-7 in a battle of league leaders on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears fall to 12-2 overall and are now in a three-way tie with John Carroll and Otterbein atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings with 5-1 league marks.

JCU improves to 9-4 overall.

Junior Max Weese (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) had two goals and an assist to lead the ONU offense.
