Another Bulldog enrolls in Ohio Northern

Zach Beaschler has made his decision. He wii attend his hometown college to study business...and play tennis.

The Ada High School Student Council President has racked up a lot of honors in tennis and swimming (he’s 6-0 this season in tennis, as is the team). He has been a state qualifier in tennis the past two years. He’s four times district qualifier in swimming.

NMM 6 is on a classic Ohio plate with Hancock County sticker. The Icon spotted it on Main Street Bluffton on a silver Toyota. Don't worry - it's not expired. We took the photo in February.

DEFIANCE — Senior Zach Goodchild (Pickerington/North) fired a second round 74 to win Medalist honors by one stroke and lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team at the Defiance Spring Invitational Saturday-Sunday at Eagle Rock Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (20-47-1 overall) finished tied for eighth out of 12 varsity teams at the 36-hole tournament with a 305-315—615.

Mount Saint Joseph won the team title with a 286-298—584, Transylvania (Ky.) was second with a 295-302—597 and Hanover (Ind.) was third with a 297-308—605.

WEST LAFAYETTE — Freshman Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) and senior Raven Venegas (Lima/Central Catholic) earned All-Conference honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Friday-Sunday at River Greens Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (27-18 overall) finished fifth of eight teams with a 54-hole total of 354-336-340—1030.

The top 14 individuals and ties earned All-Conference accolades.
