On their home court, the Ada girls basketball team suffered through a long cold spell against local rival Bluffton and lost 42-22 in Northwest Conference play on Thursday, December 16.

The Lady Bulldogs scored the game's first basket, then went over 18 minutes without another field goal.

The Ada girls fell to 2-7 and 0-3 in NWC action with the defeat. The Lady Pirates improved to 5-3 and 1-1 in the NWC with the victory.

"We can't score," said Lady Bulldog head coach Morgan Bass. "If we could score it's a different scenario. When things aren't going our way, we crumble."

At the December 16 Board of Education meeting, the Ada Schools accepted the resignation of elementary principal Ben Thaxton and hired Tim Closson as an interim replacement beginning after the holidays.

Thaxton has accepted the position of Executive Director at the Northwest Ohio Area Computer Services Cooperative (NOACSC). He thanked the board for allowing him to end his contract and noted that he will “always be a Bulldog.”

Twindemic is a portmanteau word. A portmanteau is when words are blended together to form a new meaning. The words are not combined together like starfish but rather are a mash of words. The word smog is a portmanteau mash up of smoke and fog that has become part of our vernacular.
