ONU'S Institute for Civics and Public Policy

Ohio Northern University students and faculty will help shape the future of their community, country and the world by lending their knowledge and skills to the new Institute for Civics and Public Policy (ICAPP) at Ohio Northern University.

At this pivotal point in history, ICAPP is giving ONU students and faculty a voice in the national conversation. Non-partisan and education-based, it’s a bold and innovative initiative to promote good citizenship through education and information. 

Bluffton Family Recreation is taking registrations for several adult league play that starts in November.

• Coed volleyball  – The next set of league play is from Nov. 22 to Dec. 13. The deadline for team registrations is Nov. 15. The fee is $120 per team.

• Indoor soccer – Session 1 begins Nov. 22

• Indoor flag football – Session 1 begins Nov. 28

Ohio Northern University Residence Life will host a drive-thru trick-or-treat event next week, according to Isaiah Bailey.

It takes placed from 5 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, and here are the details:

"In order to keep everyone safe and reduce the risk of covid-19 transmission, we will host a drive through trick or treat. 

"The community is invited to drive through campus, entering on College Avenue by Cosi, and exiting onto Lima Avenue by the Affinity East Complex.

"Residence Life staff members will be physically distanced on the sidewalk along the road passing out prepackaged candy.

Beatitudes will hold a fall fest’ community dinner to go today (Friday, Oct. 16), according to Deb Curlis.

The dinner will be available for pick up at Beatitudes, 210 N. Main St., from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16.

Curlis said that she would appreciate rsvps for persons who plan to pick up meals, so that Beatitudes can plan accordingly. Phone 419-788-9459 to make a reservation.

“The menu of ham and beans and cornbread will be bagged and ready to go,” said Curlis. Persons are invited to make donations during the serving times with proceeds going to the Ada food pantry.

Ian Dellifield ties Bulldog 1-game record with 5 assists • Ada boys' soccer team thumps Tiffin Calvert 9-2

ADA - The Ada boys soccer team whipped visiting Tiffin Calvert 9-2 in the regular season finale Thursday night at the park. 

The Bulldogs improved to 8-8 with the lopsided victory.

Senior Jacob Poling set a school single-game record with a whopping eight goals to give him 32 on the season.

Senior Ian Dellifield also tied the Bulldog one-game program record with five assists in the blowout win.

Fourth seed Ada hosts Otsego Wednesday, October 21 at 5 p.m. in sectional first round play. The winner then takes on ninth seed Mansfield Christian Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.
