Dre White, health education coordinator, is contact person for event

The Area Agency on Aging 3 will host a Mobile Health Clinic on Friday, Oct. 16, from 9-11 a.m. in its parking lot at 2423 Allentown Road, Lima, across from Wal-Mart, according to Dre White, AAA3 health education coordinator.

Free health screenings will be provided by the Ohio Northern University HealthWise.

ONU HealthWise will provide flu vaccines, bone density scans and blood pressure checks. HealthWise consists of students from ONU and licensed medical staff who deliver educational outreach and health care services to support the health and wellness in the community.

The Ohio Northern University steel drum band took its music outdoors yesterday from 5 to 7 p.m. The performance was between Presser Hall and the Wilson Art Center. And, yes, masks were worn by all the musicians. (Photos in this series by Mana Hashimoto, Icon intern)

Olivia Green credited with 19 saves in goal

VAN BUREN - The visiting Ada girls soccer team lost 7-0 to Van Buren in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association makeup bout Tuesday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 3-9 overall and 1-3 in NCOSA action with the defeat. The Lady Black Knights improved to 5-6-2 and 2-2 in NCOSA play with the victory.

Ada junior keeper Olivia Green was credited with 19 saves in goal.     

The Bulldogs visit Riverdale (6-6-1, 3-1 NCOSA) Wednesday, October 7 as he play their third match in three consecutive nights.

PAULDING - The visiting Ada volleyball team got off to a good start at tough Paulding but lost a four-set Northwest Conference battle Tuesday night.

Ada won the tight first set in overtime 26-24, but then saw the Panthers rally to take the next three games 25-23, 25-17, and 25-14. 

The defeat dropped the Lady Bulldog overall record to 7-10 overall and 1-6 in NWC play.  

Paulding improved to 13-3 and stayed third in the deep NWC at 5-1 with the win.         

Senior Megan Light led Ada with 15 kills, 12 digs and five blocks. Senior Miranda Wills compiled 23 digs, eight kills, two blocks and one ace. 

Zumba fitness will be offered to persons in person or virtually this fall. The class is provided by the OSU Extension Office and the Hardin County Family YMCA, according to Jami Dellifield, one of the instructors. Complete details are on the flyer.

Three Ada students were about 1,900 graduates from Ohio University's summer semester. Those students are: 

• Brian Jones,  graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing.

• Alexis Price,  graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

• Kelly Wright, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.
