Elda C. Kirkland, 93, died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at 3:18 a.m. at Otterbein- Cridersville in Cridersville, Ohio.

She was born on June 25, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio to Benjamin F. and Maude I. (Roberts) Scofield and they preceded her in death. On June 18, 1949, she married Dale T. Kirkland and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1987.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Brockport United Methodist Church, Brockport, N.Y. and formerly of the Collingwood United Methodist Church, Toledo.
Surviving are a son, David (Doris) Kirkland of Franklin; a daughter, Cathy (Jonathan) Smalley of Ada; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Lional R. Scofield and Gail W. Scofield.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Chaplain Lynn Huffman officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport, N.Y.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1,  at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
