There will be a rockin’ good time at the Ada Public Library this summer with the kickoff planned for 10 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.on  Saturday, June 2. The program continues until July 14. The summer reading program includes weeks of entertainment, learning, STEAM (Science. Technology. Engineering. Art. Math.) activities, and prizes. 

 

An Aqua Zumba class will be taught at the Ada Pool beginning this Saturday. Lynne Scott will lead the class in its fast-paced routine from 12:10 until 12:55 p.m. each Saturday throughout the summer. This year she has added a weekly Wednesday class from 7:10 until 7:55 p.m. Lynne is a certified Aqua Zumba instructor and holds classes on terra firma, as well. There is no need to preregister for Aqua Zumba. The cost is $5 per session. One may join anytime.

Ada Kiwanis Club officers for 2018-19 have been elected and will take office on Oct. 1. Joe Ferguson was elected president; Marlene Hoorman, president-elect; Bryan Marshall, treasurer; and Jon Umphress, secretary. Harold Friesner and Jack Jeffery, who will be immediate past-president, will be board members along with the officers.

 

 

 

The First Baptist Church of Ada Vacation Bible School will be held from 6-8 p.m. from Sunday, June 3 until Thursday, June 7 for children 4-years-old through 6th grade. Preregistration is not required. The church is located at 350 W. North Ave.

The Deep Roots Garden Club will present “Reading Rocks: Junior Flower Show” at the Alger Public Library on Thursday, June 28. The flower show is open to all children who will be under the age of 18. Contact the library for additional information.

The Alger Library summer reading program kickoff will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5 with Dr. Ooze and his Totally Gross Magic Show.

Dr Ooze has created magic at its grossest with strange noises, slimy green stuff, and foot fungus. To be chosen as one of Dr. Ooze’s helpers during the show, create a sign that says “Pick Me.”
