Pancake fundraiser, coin appraisals, mulch sale, library re-grand opening, shred week, hospice auction

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce wants the community to be aware of the events the chamber and its members are planning this spring for the community.

Heather Cox, chamber president, provided the Icon with the following list of several of those events.

The United States Secretary of Agriculture and the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration paid a visit Wednesday morning to the Amherst Greenhouse, located southwest of Alger. “Humbling” and “amazing” are the two words that Adin Horst used to describe the visit of the Secretary of Agriculture and the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration who to paid a visit Wednesday morning to his greenhouse located southwest of Alger. “You can’t really put into words the fact they came here,” he said.

Bluffton Family Recreation offers adult swim classes at Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Maple Crest pool on Augsburger Road, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Here's the class schedule:
• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
  9:30-10:15 a.m. - Strength, range of motion and cardio

• Tuesdays and Thursdays
   8:30-9:15 a.m. - Higher level cardio

Joel Groman first; Kristi Hurley second; Lisa Coonfare third out of 102 contestants

The Icon’s Final Four Contest went into double-overtime to pick its winners. The contest asked viewers to pick the winner of the final four teams in the Division I men’s NCAA basketball championship.

Villanova defeated Michigan 79 to 62 in the title game. The Icon contest had 102 entries.

MARION - The Ada boys tennis team improved to 2-0 this season with a convincing 4-1 victory over Marion Pleasant Monday evening.

 

The Bulldogs swept all three singles matches and the first doubles bout without coming close to dropping a set.

1st singles: Zach Beaschler (A) defeats Ben Morris 6-0, 6-0

2nd: Cade Mullins (A) def. Josh Niles 6-1, 6-0

3rd: Miranda Wills (A) def. Nash Randall 6-2, 6-1
