Freed Center presents "Take 6," awarding-winning a cappella group
Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the award-winning a cappella group Take 6 on Saturday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Take 6, the most-awarded a cappella group in history--with 10 Grammy awards, 10 Dove awards, a Soul Train award, two NAACP Image Award nominations and more--knows no musical bounds.
Heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet,” the group is comprised of six virtuoso voices united in crystal-clear harmony against a backdrop of syncopated rhythms, innovative arrangements, and funky grooves that bubble into an intoxicating brew of gospel, jazz, R&B and pop. With praise from luminaries such as Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald and Whitney Houston, the multiplatinum-selling sextet has toured across the globe, has collaborated across genres, and is recognized as the pre-eminent a cappella group in the world.
Tickets for this event are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for ONU faculty and staff, and $5 for children and ONU students.
The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets also are available online at www.freedcenter.com.
