Jed Marquart wraps up 33 years of teaching at his alma mater

The Ohio Northern University T.J. Smull College of Engineering recently celebrated the career of Dr. Jed Marquart, BSME ’80, ahead of his upcoming retirement after more than 30 years of service to the university.

A native of Bluffton, Ohio, he has had a lifelong affinity for Northwest Ohio. After graduating from ONU, he worked in the engineering workforce and obtained graduate degrees from the University of Dayton. In 1991, he returned home and spent the next 33 years teaching at his beloved alma mater.

Super Bowl results (at Norada Lanes, that is)

Associated Plastics rolled over Norada Lanes 761-695 to capture the Sixth Annual Rotary Super Bowl at Norada Lanes on Tuesday evening, April 23.  

The team from Associated Plastics swept past U.S. Bank and Century 21 Sunway Realty to make its way into the championship game.

Norada advanced to the finals with wins over Vancrest and The Inn at Ohio Northern University.

The battle for 3rd place was not determined until the final frame, when The Inn eked out a 642-636 victory over Century 21.  The outcome in the contest for 7th place was even tighter, with Middlefield Banking Company slipping past Vancrest 505-501.

Bulldog tennis falls to Cougars

VAN WERT__ The visiting Ada High School boys tennis team lost 4-1 at Van Wert Thursday evening, April 26.

May 19 Fishing Derby at Liberty Conservation Club

On Sunday, May 19, Liberty Conservation Club, 1552 OH-235, will host its Fishing Derby with set up at 9:00 a.m., kids fishing from 12:30-1:30 and open fishing from 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Mock crash event at Ada Schools on April 25

Attention Ada High School Community!

Today at 12:45 p.m., Ada High will be conducting a Mock Crash event.

You may hear emergency vehicles being dispatched to the school, but please be assured that there is no real emergency. This is only a drill.

This simulation is an important opportunity for our students to learn about the consequences of unsafe driving behaviors and the importance of responsible decision-making behind the wheel.

Let's work together to promote safe driving habits and keep our community safe!
