University presents a celebration of choral music Oct. 3
The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents a celebration of choral music as part of the ONU Homecoming festivities in the Snyder Recital Hall in the Presser Building on Friday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The evening’s program will begin with the ONU Men’s Chorus presenting a variety of glee club pieces and ending with a setting of “Kiss the Girl.” The ONU Women’s Chorus will follow with musical settings by John Rutter, Jonny Priano and Moses Hogan.
The ONU Chamber Singers will offer an assortment of styles in Latin texts as well as “A Rose Touched by the Sun’s Warm Rays” by French-born American composer Jean Berger. Finishing the program will be the University Singers with music in French, Finnish (nonsense) and English, including “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and a setting of the Twenty-Third Psalm penned by Bobby McFerrin.
