Author Laura M. Hartman will discuss the ethics of Christian consumerism during a discussion, “What would Jesus buy?” at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the forum of James F. Dicke Hall at Ohio Northern University. The event is free and open to the public.
“The general question of what we consume is important to everyone, and there are certain moral and ethical considerations that especially connect the question to Christian values,” said Forrest Clingerman, associate professor of philosophy and religion at ONU. “When purchasing an item, is it really going to help me love my neighbor?”

The Ohio Northern men's soccer team moved up to No. 3 nationally in the seventh weekly National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
The Polar Bears (15-0-3) are also ranked No. 4 in the eighth weekly D3soccer.com poll.
In the NSCAA poll, Chicago (Ill.) is ranked No. 1, Franklin & Marshall (Pa.) is No. 2 and Amherst (Mass.) is No. 4.
In the D3soccer.com poll, Chicago (Ill.) remained at the No. 1 spot with 998 points and 20 first place votes, Messiah (Pa.) is No. 2 with 941 points and the remaining first place vote, Amherst (Mass.) is third with 883 points and ONU is fourth with 879 points.
The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law is among the nation’s most outstanding law schools, according to The Princeton Review. The ONU College of Law is included in the 2017 edition of The Princeton Review’s annual feature, “The Best 172 Law Schools.”
The rankings are based largely on the responses of students who attend the colleges of law and how they rate their law college experience as well as data collected from colleges of law nationwide.
