Did you know? There's lots of dinosaurs in Ada. Most reside at the First United Methodist Church, Ada. Two students interact with several of the extinct guys before class starts.
Earlier this month former outstanding Ada High School athlete Christopher Beaschler (45) led the defense for the University of Dayton. The Flyers defeated Robert Morris 27-24 and Carl Wilkerson took some photos for the Icon.
The Dayton senior linebacker had 18 tackles including nine solos, two quarterback sacks for losses of nine yards and a deflected pass.
Beaschler is an athletic and academic all-league player and was named one of the team's captains this spring. He is the son of Ron and Christy Beaschler of Ada.
The second annual revival and benefit for ReStore Community Center takes place from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Ada Church of Christ, 316 S. Main St., Ada.

Law professors discussed the constitutionality of same-sex marriage Tuesday at the law school.
Lee Sprang of the University of Toledo and Joanne Brant of ONU discussed the topic that the Supreme Court recently decided making same-sex marriage legal in every state. The debate continues (know who Kim Davis is?) since the issue affects states' rights, religious freedom, due process, public opinion, and other aspects of American society.
There were no banners or tables with literature set up espousing one side or the other. About 100 people attended, mostly law students and faculty. Lima newspaper and TV were present along with The Ada Icon.
