Arizona Collingsworth, 1925-2015
Arizona Collingsworth, age 89, died Thursday, July 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Lost Creek Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Lima.
She was born on August 31, 1925 in Salyersville, Kentucky to Jack and Della (Montgomery) Risner, who preceded her in death. She married Ottis Collingsworth on March 6, 1948 and he died on July 16, 1997.
Arizona was a homemaker. She was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church and a member of the Women’s Ministry of the church. Arizona served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by a son, Ottis (Deb Wilson) Collingsworth, Jr. of Ada; seven daughters: Linda (Larry) Hattery of Alger, Glenda Overs of Alger, Sue Collingworth of Lima, Margaret Olivieri of Alger, Carol (Everett) Thornsberry of Warsaw, IN, Judy Tackett of FL and Dee (Bill) Mears of Lima, as well as 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; four sisters: Bessie Vincient of Ada, Lydia Scott of Lakeview, Nancy Thomas of Alger and Martha Builderback of Colorado; and a grandson, Todd Risner of Kenton, who was raised by Ottis and Arizona.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Brenda Collingsworth and JoAnn Miller; two brothers: Roy Risner and Sam Risner; four sisters: Pat, Marie and two infant sisters.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 3, at the Alger Assembly of God Church, 7050 State Route 235, with Pastor Mark Andreasen officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alger Assembly of God Church.
