Thomas Hubbell was a member of the Ada Park Board
Thomas C. “Tom” Hubbell, 82, died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 at 3:28 a.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on May 1, 1933, in Ada, Ohio to John E. and Margaret Lucille (Firestone) Hubbell who preceded him in death. On Aug. 8, 1953 he married Janet L. Welsh and she survives in Ada.
Tom was a self employed Licensed Land Surveyor. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, where he was a former Deacon. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Tom was a member and owner of Shawnee Long Rifles and a member of the Ada Park Board.
Also surviving is a son, Steve (Susan) Hubbell of Ada; two daughters: Michelle (Dennis) Klingler of Elida and Barb (Tim Snyder) Klingler of Ada; six grandchildren: Christina (Jesse) Butler, Jesse T. (Katie) Hubbell, Michael (Mindy) Klingler, Ty (Sabrina Neeley) Klingler, Josh (Laina) Klingler and Nikki (Lason) Clum; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Larry Hubbell of Lakeview; a sister Nancy Wagner of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Fred Hubbell.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 North Hardin Road, Harrod, with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Graveside military service will be conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and/or Alzheimer’s Association.
