Ada Marching Band third at Piqua competition
It was a day of thirds as the Ada High School Marching Band competed in their 3rd competition on Oct. 17 at the Piqua Band Invitational.
Ada High School’s Pac-Man-themed competition show placed 3rd overall out of 11 bands competing in the combined Class B (301-500 students) and C (less than 300 students) grouping.
The color guard received individual 3rd place recognition as well.
Saturday’s performance earned the band 3 superior ratings (the highest) and 4 excellent ratings. At OMEA adjudicated events the final overall band rating is determined by the two music, two general effects, two visual, and a percussion judge’s rating. The ratings of these seven judges are converted to a final rating.
The Ada community can follow the high school marching band on the Ada Music Boosters website www.adamusicboosters.org where all music event summaries and photos are posted on the News and Event Blog.
The Ada Music Booster website provides a calendar for all Ada school music events
as well as opportunities to support the instrumental and vocal music programs.
