JUNE 13 MEDIA RELEASE__On Thursday, June 12, 2025 just before 9 p.m., The Hardin County Central Dispatch Center received several 9-1-1 calls regarding a motorcycle crash in the area of State Route 309 and County Road 95 in Cessna Township.
A 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by Joseph Bayliff, of rural Dunkirk was traveling Eastbound on County Road 90 when the motorcycle left the North side of the roadway traveling across a drainage ditch and entering onto State Route 309.
Mr. Bayliff was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
ADA__The Ada Gators summer swim team swept a dual meet with visiting West Ohio Aquatic League foe Van Wert at the Ada Municipal Pool Thursday evening, June 12.
Both teams had limited numbers, with Ada fielding 37 swimmers and the Marlins 20-25.
The Gator boys team splashed VW 129-75 to improve to 2-0 after the victory.
Ada won the girls meet 149-115 to even their summer mark at 1-1. The Gators captured the overall meet by a combined score of 278-190 to improve to 1-1 overall.
“I am very proud of our kids,” said Gator head coach Dave Lusk. “It was truly a team effort. We achieved many personal-bests.”
ADA__The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has filed a crash report for a serious injury incident that occurred east of Ada on June 10.
The crash occurred around 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 81 and County Rd 15.
A semi-tractor was traveling northbound on County Road 15 near State Route 81 when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of the two roads. A full size pickup truck was traveling westbound on State Route 81 and a collision occurred due to the semi not stopping.
The driver of the semi-tractor, Esayas Berhe, age 54, had no apparent injuries.

MEDIA RELEASE FOR NORTHWEST OHIO, WILDLIFE DISTRICT TWO__State Wildlife Investigator Kevin Good received information that an individual who had lost fishing privileges on Ohio’s public waterways as a result of previous wildlife violations had been fishing on Lake Erie. State Wildlife Investigators Brian Bury and Travis Abele observed the suspect fishing. Investigator Good issued the individual a summons for fishing under a revoked license. The individual was found guilty and ordered to pay more than $700 in fines and court costs, and the fishing license revocation was extended for five additional years.
