Ada's latest news

Have you heard about the little girl twirling in her blue skirt?

Note: Halloween is this week. Now is a good time to take a look back at one of the town's oldest ghost stories. Leland Crouse alerted the Icon about it, which was originally posted in Betty Miller's Small Town Sampler on Oct. 24, 1990.

Sitting in a group of friends one of the ladies brought up a story about seeing a ghost at her downtown apartment. I had to hear the whole story and went to visit my friend.

ONU graphic design program women's right to vote poster design workshop

The Ohio Northern University Graphic Design Program hosted a poster design workshop on Oct. 21 focusing on the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote. It was the first legislation for women’s voting rights. Not until the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 were voting rights of all women protected and enforced.

Some of the poster examples are part of this story, taken from the ONU Art and Design Facebook.

Freshman Drew Long passed out two assists and Brendan Jameson doled out the other for sectional trophy

ADA - Senior forward Jacob Poling netted all three goals as the Ada boys soccer team defeated visiting Mansfield Christian 3-1 in a Div. III sectional final match on a chilly Saturday afternoon at the park pitch.

The victory upped the Bulldog record to 10-8. The third time was the charm for Ada against MC in the tournament as they had lost twice before to the perennial power Flames during Jason Okuly's tenure.

Don't be surprised if you see several of the Halloweeners in this photo series ringing your doorbell this week. Here's our second section of photos from Tuesday's ONU Residential Life drive-thru trick-or-treat event on campus. The drive-thru drew an estimated 300-plus people in 75 vehicles, according to Isaiah Bailey, event coordinator. Ada's trick-or-treat is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29.
