Ohio Northern University's Heterick Library is among several construction projects underway in Ada this summer. Certainly at least once in your life you've peeked in windows to watch construction underway. We sent Ken Collins to the library, not to check out books, but to check out the construction underway. The first-ever Heritage Day Festival takes place in Mt. Blanchard on Saturday, Aug. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting through fireworks that evening.  

The Beautification Committee, with help from village council, sponsors the event.

The community is invited to worship at Ada War Memorial Park Sunday, July 24, with Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. 

A continental breakfast will be available at 9:30 a.m., followed by songs and worship in the brown shelter house near the back of the park.  Pastor Courtnie will continue the Disney at the Movies series with this week’s homily theme: Pocahontas. 

Lawn chairs are encouraged.

"Sally" is a sweet girl who loves attention. She is a special needs dog with some skin issues. You will fall in love with her at first sight.

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.
