Ada's latest news

By Bailey Bowers

Here's the second "Ada Past and Present" feature. CLICK HERE for the first installment.

Our feature is the Ada First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Main and Lincoln.

Presbyterians were among the first to settle in Ada, so it was only natural for a church to be constructed. The original Presbyterian Church was completed in 1864 and dedicated in 1867.

Here's the final photo in the Icon summer photo contest. It is a bonus photo worth 5 points. In the story below viewers may open an attachment that reviews all previous 10 photos. The story below also tells how to enter the contest.

Welcome to Ada’s A-B-C Summer Contest. Here we are at the end!

OPEN THE ATTACHMENT BELOW TO SEE ALL THE LETTERS ONE MORE TIME!

For persons wanting to review all photos, you will find them on the attachment at the bottom of this story.

The 10 letters spell out "T H E   A D A  I C O N." Clever, right?

The photos or numbers are taken from Main Street Ada buildings and structures. All photos were taken in May by the Icon’s official contest photographer, Bailey Bowers. The photos cover Main from College Avenue on the south to Highland Avenue on the north.

Michael Haarnishfeger, Ada police chief, released the Ada police call logs from June 23 to July 6. They are available on attachments at the bottom of this story.
