University Chapter of PRSSA takes second in national competition
The Ohio Northern University chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) garnered second place in the KIND “No Compromises” Campaign. This national competition challenged teams to bring to life KIND’s “AND philosophy” by life-hacking their college campuses.
The ultimate objective for participating team was to build awareness among students that KIND snacks are the perfect snack for both health and taste.
ONU, which finished behind the University of Alabama, will receive $500 for the team and a case of KIND snacks; $5,000 will be donated to a charity of the team’s choosing. Finishing third was Ohio University.
Members of the ONU Chapter of PRSSA who worked on the project were Alexa Lammers, a senior musical theatre major from Tipp City, Ohio; Evan Bader, a junior sports management major from Norwalk, Ohio; Elena Coleman, a junior musical theatre major from McKees Rock, Penn; Megan Cottongim, a senior public relations major from Springboro, Ohio; and Blake Lundy, a junior communications major from Lima, Ohio. Alisa Agozzino, assistant professor of public relations, served as the group’s adviser.
This campaign and the PRSSA 2015 National Conference were both sponsored by KIND. During the conference, PRSA and PRSSA members also heard from Daniel Lubetzky, the founder of KIND Healthy Snacks.
PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. Founded in 1968 by its parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), PRSSA includes more than 11,000 student members and advisers, and is active at more than 340 colleges and universities.
