The June 16 meeting of the Village of Ada Council was chaired by Mayor Dave Retterer with all council members present and new Village Administrator Casey Smith on her second day of employment with the Village. Both the outgoing and incoming fiscal officers, Patty Navin and Lydia Fountaine were present.

Cloyce W. Hattery, age 91, of Edgerton, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Parkview Care Center.

He was born on January 26, 1935, in Alger, Ohio, to Walter and Edith (Riley) Hattery.

Cloyce is survived by four daughters: Teresa (Joe) Hiler, Kelly Harper, Kim (Dave) Gerkin, and Vicki (Roy) Rethmel; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother: Virgil Hattery.

Cloyce was a graduate of Alger High School. He worked as a Park Ranger for the Department of Natural Resources for many years.

A private family service will be held at Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Ada man injured in two-vehicle incident

MEDIA RELEASE__The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on June 16, 2026, at approximately 5:58 A.M. on Lincoln Highway and County Road 15 in Orange Township. 

MEDIA RELEASE_Ohio State University Extension of Hardin County has collected unofficial township rainfall data for April. Fifteen volunteer rainfall reporters in respective townships have been collecting rainfall amounts for the past 34 consecutive years. Rainfall amounts are recorded from only one section per township.

Who says dinosaurs can't be fancy? We're inviting girls aged 3-7 (and their favorite grown-up) to join us for a Tea-Rex Party this Saturday, June 20 at noon. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite party dress or dinosaur outfit. Think tutus and tails! We'll enjoy juice and treats, listen to dinosaur stories, and even have a craft to take home.
