Bill Lawrence worked for the Village of Ada for 30 years
William H. Bill Lawrence, 72, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 5:22 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
Bill was born on July 10, 1943 in Alger, Ohio, to William L. and Rose C. (Campbell) Lawrence. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Kenton. On Sept. 15, 1964, he married Linda L. Fleming and she survives in Ada.
Bill retired after working for 30 years for the Village of Ada. He served in the National Guard and retired after 22 years of service as an E-6. He attended Alger High School and took numerous educational opportunities with the National Guard. He was a member of the Ada Full Gospel Church, where he especially enjoyed working with the kids for vacation Bible School. Bill really enjoyed fishing and tinkering in his garage.
Also surviving is a son, Timothy William (Deborah Ann) Lawrence of Aiken, S.C.; two daughters: Tina Marie Sweigart of Ada and Deborah Sue (Bill) Jones of Kenton; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; four brothers: Larry (Judy) Lawrence of Ada, Paul (Ruth) Lawrence of Ada, Emmitt (Debra) Lawrence of Dunkirk and Wilbur Lawrence of Ohio; and a sister, Phyllis (Larry) Tidd of Ada.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Lawrence.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely Funeral Home for the benevolence of the family at P.O. Box 38, Ada, Ohio 45812.
