Jack Fancher was a farmer; graduate of McGuffey HS
Jackie E. "Jack" Fancher, 80, died on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at 12:50 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1936, in McGuffey, Ohio to Wilmoth "Curly" and Dorothy Agnes (Dodds) Fancher who preceded him in death. On Jan. 21, 1956, Jack married Pat M. Decker and she survives in Ada.
Jack was a farmer. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. He was a 1954 graduate of McGuffey High School. He was a social member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 and a member of the Ada Liberty Conservation Club. Jack and Pat wintered at Hawthorne in Leesburg, Florida for many years.
Also surviving are two daughters: Kathleen (John) DeRosa of Leesburg, Fla., and Wilma (Bill) Harris of Ada; five grandchildren: Casandra (Joe) Bennett, Candice (Vanny) Vang, Bryan (Jennie) Kent, Shannon Simon and Jeremy Park; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Bradley M. Wentz on Dec. 23, 2016; a sister, Doris Fancher; and a brother, Bobby Dodds.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Courtnie Morton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or St. Rita's Hospice, Lima.
