The following is a letter to Icon viewers concerning the March 17 Ada school 3/4 precent income tax renewal levy. The Icon welcomes letters on this subject and all must be signed.
Dear Ada Community:
By now you have begun to see signs in the community asking you to vote for a renewal of a ¾% income tax. Mrs. Kim Light, treasurer, and I have had the privilege of speaking to various community groups about it.
A tornado siren will be installed in Ada this spring. A video at the bottom of this story demonstrates the siren.
Michael Harnishfeger, police chief, update Ada’s council on the project on March 3.
The village allocated $35,000 in its budget for a siren. Federal Signal provided the village with a quote of $25,786 to provide and install a high power, directional rotating siren, which the village accepted.
Harnishfeger also contacted a second supplier, Sentry Sirens, and although is awaiting a written quote, anticipated it to be in excess of $43,000.
What appears as an artist's palette is actually a display of cover crop seeds. It is from the Center Seeds of Minster, an exhibitor's display at the Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference at Ohio Northern. Held, March 3 and 4, it attracted over 800 persons to Ada.
