The Ohio Northern softball team welcomes back a lion's share of its team in 2020. Seven of the eight players who logged at least 100 at-bats in 2019 come back along with two of the four pitchers who saw action last season.
"We do have a solid group returning," ONU head coach Jackie Price said. "We started a good amount of freshmen last year, and for them to get that experience, it was really good. So having those kids come back and teaching our younger kids the expectations and what we want from them, I think that will definitely help us this year."
A workshop to help area professionals sharpen their social media skills will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 20 in McIntosh Center at Ohio Northern University. The event is intended to help individuals learn how to optimize their organization’s social media presence.
The Ada Icon provides links to two video focusing on the life of Dr. DeBow Freed, President Emeritus of Ohio Northern University, who died in Ada on Feb. 8.
A memorial service and celebration of his life was held on campus on Saturday.
It included a display of mementos in the chapel, and a video on his life of service and the Freed years at Ohio Northern.
Family Zumba, student health screenings, talks about vaping, mobile clinic tours and a discussion titled “Hidden in plain sight” are all part of a special health-related program in Ada schools in March.
The initiative involves Ada schools in partnership with Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy called Dogs and Bears Get Fit in March.
Megan Stephan, pharmacy resident at ONU, leads the program thanks to two grants from the Buckeye Health Plan and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
