Senior Morgan Dumbaugh scored a season high 21 points and senior Kate Mengos notched her first career double-double to lead the No. 20 Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 64-42 victory over Baldwin Wallace Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-2, 1-1.
Dumbaugh shot 8-of-17 from the field, and 2-of-7 from behind the arc. She also snagged 7 rebounds.
Mengos finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
Northern held the Yellow Jackets scoreless for a span of 10:57 in the game.
Seniors Nate Bascom, Austin Windsor and Mac Church have all been named NSCAA/Continental Tire Men's Soccer All-Americans in voting conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Assocaition of America.
Bascom was named to the First Team, Windsor was voted to the Second Team and Church was named to the Third Team.
Bascom earns his second straight All-American award.
This season Bascom broke the ONU single season school records in assists with 18 and in points with 54. He was also second on the team with 18 goals.
Senior Tara Tokar has been named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-American Third Team, in voting conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
This is the second straight season that Tokar has been named to the Third Team.
This season, she scored three goals and recorded two assists as a midfielder. Tokar ends her career as a Polar Bear with 12 goals and six assists.
Ohio Northern finished the season with a 13-5-5 record and won the program's first OAC Tournament Championship.
The Polar Bears also advanced to the second round of the NCAA III Tournament for the second consecutive season.
The Ohio Northern men's swimming & diving team is ranked No. 17 in the latest Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Division III power rankings released on Wednesday.
The Polar Bears (4-0 overall, 2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) have an 81.74 rating.
