Raymond L. Allen 1948 - 2017
Raymond L. Allen, age 68, died on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2:17 pm at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on June 26, 1948 in Alger, Ohio to Adam and Marie (Nichols) Allen who preceded him in death. On April 1, 1967 Raymond married Linda K. Swaney and she survives in Harrod.
Raymond retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima in 2007 after working for 30 years. After retiring from Ford, he worked at Spallinger Millright from 2007 to 2015. He attended Lima First Assembly of God Church. He was a member of the Yankee Bassmasters of Harrod. Raymond loved attending his children and granchildren's musicals, sporting events and horse shows. He was an avid woodworker and outdoorsman.
Also surviving are two sons: Todd (Carol) Allen of Ostrander and Troy (Amy) Allen of Harrod; a daughter, Teresa (Harvey) Thornes of Harrod; eight grandchildren: Alexander Allen, Olivia Allen, Devon (Wesley) Warneke, Emily (Joshua) Haisely, Sarah Allen, Lucy Thornes, Jack Thornes and Ruth Thornes; a great grandchild, Hayden Marie Warneke; three sisters: Linda (Pete) Pederson of Ada, Barbara (Walter) Molands of Alger and Judi (Gary) Bradley of Kenton; two brothers-in-law: Terry (Martha) Swaney of Ada and Mike (Pam) Swaney of LaFayette; and a sister-in-law, Vickie (Mike) Hawkins of Lima.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 3, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
It was Raymond's wishes to be cremated following the services. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 2, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lima First Assembly of God Church and/or Lifeline of Ohio and/or Allen East Mom's and Dad's Club.
