Roy D. Berry, age 57, passed away at 3:08 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at his residence in Alger, Ohio.
He was born on December 10, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Roy Edward and Edna (Jones) Berry. On November 7, 2004 Roy married Janice Howard and she survives in Ada.
Surviving are two daughters: Angie (Alan) Carter of Georgia and Elizabeth (Chris) Reynolds of Georgia; one step-son: Jerry Howard of Georgia and one step-daughter: Joy (Vincent) Centaur of Tennessee. Also surviving is a sister: Brenda (Claude) Everett of Georgia; and six grandchildren.
The Women LEAD—Girls Empowerment luncheon and conference will be held Friday, Nov. 16 at The Inn on campus. Those pictured will be panel members who will share their perspective on life, success, and living passionately. The event is organized by Hardin County and Chamber and Business Alliance.
Phil Marshall, a prolific writer about his rescues in a Huey helicopter in Vietnam, will speak at the Veterans Day breakfast which begins at 8 a.m. on Monday in the Ada Schools cafeteria.
Marshall, who now lives in Springfield, has written 13 books (sold on Amazon) about his war experiences. He flew medvac helicopters in Vietnam in 1969.
The free breakfast recognizes all veterans and their families as well as active duty personnel who live, work, or worship in the school district.
Marshall is also active in American Huey 360, a volunteer organization in Peru, Ind., that restores the Hueys to fly at air shows.
Here are a few of the many items that are up for auction this year at the annual Festival of Trees to support hospice programs at Community Health Professionals. The silent auction will begin Monday at CHP, 1200 S. Main. The facility will be open for viewing and bidding from 9 a.m until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday when the bidding closes.

Ada War Memorial Park will have all-new electric lines by late spring or early summer thanks to voters who approved two park levies two years ago.
Work is beginning on the $120,000 project which will provide all new lines, panel boxes, conduit, and poles to the grove area (not the stadium).
he improved electric will service nine shelters and provide panel boxes with outlets for special occasions, such as the F & M Picnic when food vendors and amusements need to hook up.
