Richard C. Dyer, age 90, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 3:04 p.m. at his residence in Ada.

          He was born on November 22, 1927 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Joseph A. and Lavina (Cole) Dyer.  In 1961 Richard married Linda K. Parr and she survives in Ada.

          Richard retired from the McComb Cookie Factory and he also worked for Liberty Township, Hardin County.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War.   Richard enjoyed cutting wood.

          Also surviving are his two sons: Randolph (Kathy Lee) Dyer of Lima and Stacey Dyer of Midland, Texas; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The Ohio Northern men's soccer team stormed back from an early 1-0 second half deficit and defeated the Heidelberg Student Princes 4-1 at Kerscher Stadium Wednesday evening in Ohio Athletic Conference action as sophomore defender Beelal Hasan netted his first career hat trick in the victory.

 

With the come-from-behind triumph, the Polar Bears improve to 11-4-1 overall and to 4-2-0 in league play this season. Meanwhile, the Student Princes drop to 5-7-1 on the year with a 2-3-1 mark against the conference loop.

TIFFIN - Sophomore forward Jenna Fuller registered her conference-best 14th goal Wednesday evening, guiding the Ohio Northern women's soccer team to a 1-0 league victory over the Heidelberg Student Princes at Hoernemann Stadium in Tiffin.

With their 12th straight victory, the Polar Bears climb to 12-2-0 overall and to 6-0-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference this season. Meanwhile, the Student Princes drop to 6-9-1 and 1-5-0 against the conference loop.

WILLARD - The visiting Ada boys soccer team shut out host Willard 2-0 Wednesday evening in second round Div. III sectional tournament play.

The seventh-seeded Bulldog boys improved to 10-6-1 and advance to the district semifinals with the victory. The Crimson Flashes end their season 9-6-2 after the loss.

Ada seniors Chris Reyes and Brendan Sheridan netted the Bulldog goals. Jon Allen assisted on the goal by Sheridan.

Ada now advances to the district semifinals at Tiffin Columbian High School Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. vs. top seed Van Buren (16-2).
