Ada's latest news

The newly-constructed north entrance and parking lot of the Ada Public Library is now open. The entrance on the west side facing Main Street will remain an entrance, as well.

The library will be open its regular hours on Good Friday. Those hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

OTTOVILLE - The Ada softball team scored eight runs in the fourth inning and cruised to a 14-0 win in its delayed season opener at non-league foe Ottoville Wednesday evening.

 

Freshman Leona Dalton fired a five-inning shutout in her debut, and aided her own cause with two hits, a run batted in and three runs scored. Dalton struck out five and walked none in the run-rule shortened, complete-game effort.

 

The Lady Bulldogs scored two runs in the first inning, then added one in the second and three more in the third to build a 6-0 cushion. They then put the game out of reach with eight more in the fourth frame.

 

There is a new pharmacy at ONU which is open to the public. What is that all about? Might you be interested in having your prescriptions filled there?

 

Katie Westgerdes, a pharmacist for ONU HealthWise Pharmacy, spoke at the Kiwanis Club meeting this week and explained:

 

The pharmacy will be an extension of all the preventive and disease state management services that ONU HealthWise already offers and will accept most prescription insurance plans. 

 

The pharmacy will be a full-service community pharmacy with a focus on comprehensive personal care, including the sale of over-the-counter medications. 

 

Paul Finkelman, Ph.D., a Pennsylvania college president, will discuss the origins of the Second Amendment at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 5 at the law college.The talk is free and open to the public.

 

The title of his talk is “Did James Madison really think you should own an AR-15, a bump stock or an assault rifle? The original meaning of the Second Amendment.” 

 

The Varsity Singers competition show, performed during school year at many invitationals, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in the Ada Schools auditorium.
