Man arrested on drug charges
The sheriff's office reports:
On Sept. 7, while investigating a sale of illegal narcotics, officers with the Hardin County Crime Task Force arrested Matthew Williams of Lima. Williams had sold crack cocaine to Task Force detectives; he also had heroin, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine in his possession.
Williams was arrested at W. North and Detroit Streets in Kenton and was transported to the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion. His vehicle was removed from the scene and impounded by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with trafficking in narcotics and possession of narcotics.
Suspecting there were more narcotics in the vehicle, Task Force officers obtained a search warrant and conducted a more thorough search of Matthews’s car which resulted in the discovery of 9 grams of Fentanyl; as a result, additional charges on Williams are pending.
The Task Force was assisted in the investigation by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kenton and Forest Police Departments.
